Massimo (Max) Mongardini

These days I manage software engineering teams, but I grew up as a Linux Systems Engineer and that's still where my heart is. Give me a terminal, a misbehaving server, and a cup of coffee and I'm in my happy place. Troubleshooting, automation, high availability, if it can be scripted, it should be scripted.

The management thing happened gradually, the way it does. You get good at fixing systems, then they ask you to fix teams. Turns out the debugging skills transfer surprisingly well.

Outside of work, I'm the usual flavour of nerd: personal projects that start as "this will take an afternoon" and end up with their own docker container, quality time with my family, and tennis... where my serve has better uptime than most of the systems I've managed.
